Terms of Service

Effective date: April 30, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing or using ReceiptMe ("the Extension", "the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not install or use the Extension.

2. Description of Service

ReceiptMe is a Chrome browser extension that scans connected email accounts for receipts and invoices, classifies them using machine learning, and organizes them for export. The Service is available in three tiers: Free, Pro, and Business.

3. License to Use

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Extension for your personal or internal business purposes.

You may not:

  • Copy, modify, or distribute the Extension or its underlying code
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Extension
  • Use the Extension to build a competing product
  • Share, resell, or sublicense your license key

4. Subscriptions and Payment

Pro and Business plans are billed monthly through LemonSqueezy. By subscribing, you authorize LemonSqueezy to charge your payment method on a recurring basis. All payments are processed by LemonSqueezy and subject to their Terms of Service.

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which provides a 14-day money-back guarantee for subscription charges. Customers who purchased prior to a material change to the Refund Policy remain covered by the version in effect at the time of their purchase.

5. License Keys

Each license key is for use on one device at a time. You may deactivate a key and reactivate it on another device, but you may not share license keys between users. We reserve the right to deactivate keys found to be in violation of this policy.

6. Account Access and Privacy

To find and organize receipts, ReceiptMe requests OAuth scopes from your connected email and (optionally) cloud-storage providers. Most scopes are read-only; a small number write narrowly scoped data — applying a Gmail label or Outlook category to messages whose receipts have been saved to your ReceiptMe receipts table (so you can identify in your inbox which messages have a saved receipt), and writing receipt PDFs to a folder you choose in Drive or OneDrive. We do not delete, move, send, or modify the content of your messages or your existing files, and we never read or alter messages or files unrelated to receipt processing. You may revoke this access at any time from the Accounts page in the extension or directly from your provider's account settings (for Google, myaccount.google.com/permissions). See our Privacy Policy for the per-scope breakdown and our adherence to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Extension is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that the Extension will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that it will accurately classify all receipts. Receipt classification is provided for convenience only and should not be relied upon as tax or legal advice. Always verify your expense records with a qualified accountant.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ReceiptMe shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the Extension, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

9. Changes to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes via the changelog or extension UI.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Extension after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

11. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Missouri, United States of America, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service that cannot be resolved informally shall be brought exclusively in the state courts of Cass County, Missouri, or in the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri, and you and ReceiptMe LLC consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. Nothing in this section limits the mandatory statutory rights of consumers under the laws of their country of residence.
